Deep night in the cemetery – a place where silence presses on your ears, and every rustle seems to herald something eerie. Serhiy, exhausted by a series of life’s failures, chose to work as a guard among the graves, hoping to find peace. To avoid wandering in the darkness, he installed a hidden video camera with a motion sensor linked to his phone. “The dead don’t roam,” he smiled, settling onto a couch and drifting off to sleep. It seemed nothing could disturb this deathly silence.
But in the middle of the night, a sharp phone signal jolted Serhiy awake. The sensor had been triggered. With a pounding heart, he grabbed his phone and looked at the screen. What he saw made his blood run cold. In the moonlight, near one of the graves, stood a dark figure, motionless, as if waiting for something – or someone. Serhiy held his breath. He was sure: there should be no living souls in the cemetery at this hour.
He rushed to the grave, but the figure had vanished, as if dissolved into the night. With trembling hands, Serhiy shone his flashlight on the gravestone.
